Getting the Joy Machine Going Again
My people gather this month. Join us. It'll do us all some good.
If there’s one thing gay people know, it’s how to dance when your heart is breaking.
And that’s what’s up next.
Although I am not forgetting Uvalde, it’s also important that we do things that bring us joy.
Humans are not meant to live in this prolonged cycle of anger, grief, and uncertainty we’ve experienced these past few years. No wonder we’re all on edge. No wonder we’re depressed. No wonder we all feel like it’s a struggle to concentrate on anything.
In future science books, this period will likely be referred to as the Whatthefucketh Age.
But we’ve got to live through it right now. And right now is the beginning of Pride.
I Am What I Am
So it’s time to force myself out of this low-grade depression of the past week, where I’ve reverted to my old habits/coping mechanisms (the ones that SUCK):
