Thomas Wolfe once famously wrote, βYou canβt go home again.β
But I am.
Itβs just for an overnight to Connecticut to visit with my sisters but it feels different. You see, dear reader, I have not been back to my hometown since my mom died in 2018.
Why Not?
Since the age of 21, I have made hundreds of faithful pilgrimages back East for vacations and catch-ups (and even lived there again for five years) but when my mom passed, it seemed like the light left with her.
